Who Is Mercer Blue?

I was down at Miller Brothers in Buckhead last week, and the guys were unpacking a new brand that I had never heard of.

Mercer Blue.  Brand new stuff.  We helped create it through the Luxe Group”.

The Mercer Blue collection was developed by the finest independent specialty menswear merchants in the country: the Luxe Group. The Luxe Group is made up of sixteen menswear stores, including Miller Brothers, Coffman’s, The Locker Room, and M.S. McClellan.

From a quality perspective, Mercer Blue clocks in as a really nice version of Peter Millar.  The fabrics are top notch, and the construction is sturdy.  I would say the cuts are modern – they aren’t slim or skinny, but they aren’t boxy at all.  It’s a good price point for what you get.

Here’s what’s smart about the entire collection: it all goes together.  You could literally buy everything below, and get dressed in the dark.  It’s brilliant.  It takes away any stress.  Want some?  You’ve got to visit one of the Luxe Group stores.  Give my guys at Miller Brothers a call and they’ll get you taken care of.

Here’s the collection:

Mercer Blue is available at all Luxe Group stores.

You should do an in-depth report on all the 5-pocket pants out there now.  Seems like every maker got on that bandwagon.  I like the Peter Millar sateen stretch 5-pocket and Sid Mashburn slim straight jean and 5-pocket.  The fit is slimmer than the onward reserve, which have a pretty wide leg and leg opening by comparison.  Just a thought…

Not a bad idea.  If you like Millar/Mashburn, check out Ledbury’s 5-pockets.  They are my favorite.
