Don’t kid yourself. It’s still really hot and humid. And Mrs. RCS still likes her date nights (almost as much as I do). In my move to less and less tech, I’m really embracing natural fibers and good fit, and I’m really enjoying the process. The pieces look better, wear better, and hold up so much longer…
Here’s what I sport:

1. Garrett Leight Wayfarer Sunglasses: Something a little different, and dressier than we normally sport. I like having a pair of these on the ready.
2. Swatch SKINNAVY Watch: Not all watches have to be $$$$. Sometimes the understated, design friendly timepieces are a lot more fun.
3. Duck Head Easley Sport Coat: These Duck Head sport coats are absolute home runs.
4. Brunello Cucinelli Suede Tassel Loafers: Spend good money on good shoes. These are good shoes, and will only get better with age.
5. Eton Slim Fit Bengal Stripe Dress Shirt: As close to a custom shirt that you’ll find OTR. Eton makes very handsome dress shirt that really holds up. I have a few and really like them.
6. Peter Millar Bison O-Ring Belt: Remember when O-ring belts sucked? Well, this one does not. It’s a seriously cool piece that gives the outfit an upgrade.
7. Jack Donnelly Poplin Slim Fit Chinos: My favorite chinos on the market right now. Perfect for the heat. Hem to a no-break length with a 1.75″ cuff.
8. Beat to Hell Bandana: For the inside jacket pocket. You never know.
Carried a bandana in my right hip pocket since college fraternity days over 40 years ago. Feel naked without it. Have been through scores of them, including two by L L Bean, that were a gift to me from a stylish uncle; one of which fell off my lap when I stood to leave a theatre and the other which I left at a date’s Norfolk townhouse, each after cleaning my glasses. I wonder if she still has it.
En vogue on my campus to have a bandana in right hip pocket as well. The ladies from Sweet Briar, Hollins, et. al would make it a game to try and nap them from the fellas. Good memories.
