2024 RCS Gift Guide: Outdoorsman

Moving on… Got an outdoorsman in your life?  Dudes that like to hunt, fish, shoot…and generally enjoy the tomfoolery of nature.  These guys are pretty tough to buy for, as gear obsession is a real thing.

I’ve put together a list here that is sure to please even the most discerning gentleman:

From Top Left:

1. Yakoda Supply Utility Pack:  A great ‘grab and go’ bag for stream adventures.  Easily snaps to wader straps and carries just about all you need.  Made in the USA by a fantastic group out of Colorado.
2. Costa Grand Catalina Sunglasses: World-class technology on vintage-inspired frames.  It’s what all of us guys strive to achieve.
3. A Great Blaze Orange Hat:  More specifically, a blaze hat from somewhere special that isn’t Cabela’s.  Show them you’ve been somewhere.
4. TSG King Charles Shooting Shirt:  Everyone has the red and black buffalo plaid…but the orange and black??  Sign me up.
5. Duck Camp Grid Hoodie:  Hot off the press from our friends at Duck Camp, this is a great mid-weight layer that can be worn under or over and provide comfort vs. the elements.  Apply to all outdoor adventures.
6. Smartwool OTC Wool Socks:  As I’ve learned the hard way, you can’t have too many pairs of over-the-calf wool socks.  Nothing worse than cold feet.
7. Van Staal 6″ Pliers: Top-of-the-line hook grabbers for guys reeling in the big catch.
8. Tom Beckbe Canvas Shell Bag:  A worthy upgrade for the upland hunter.  This one will only get better with age and is built like a tank.
9. Williams Knife Company Whitetail Skinner:  Knives.  Can’t have too many.  They all serve a different purpose.  This skinner from Williams will cut just about anything you need.
10. Onward Reserve Thomasville Briar Pants:  The heritage look of these is very attractive (vs. the highly technical stuff that the general population is starting to move away from).  Be at the forefront of fashion.
11. Loop Tackle Bartek Jacket:  Gotten to know more about Loop in the past few months, and like what they have going on.  Besides their rods and reels, they have some very affordable, and well-built apparel that’ll serve you well.
12. Woodley & Company Bucket Bag:  I got one of these a few months ago, and keep finding more and more uses for it.  It’s held golf balls, shells in the dove field, kid stuff, etc.  GREAT buy.
13. Krag Silversmith Sterline Bonefish Buckle:  Those flats are calling…
14. Toadfish Stowaway Lantern:  One of the most useful gifts I’ve gotten.  I love having this in just about every gear bag I pack.  It’s saved my butt on more than one occasion.

What did I miss?

The Kingfisher Leatherworks shell bag is top shelf! Handmade in the USA of full grain leather. It doesn’t sag at all on your hip. Heirloom product for sure.
