Back To School

It’s hard to believe that school starts on August 3rd.

We always went back the week before Labor Day, but we didn’t have a Fall Break or a Winter Break.  Before school started, Mom would drag my brother and me to Uptons and JC Penney to get some Duck Heads (which would eventually be handed down or cut off for Summer short), a few polos, some t-shirts (usually sports and skateboard-related), then over to Bennie’s to get some new school shoes (we were big Air Pegasus guys), and finally, over to Richway to get a new Trapper Keeper.  It was always a great day for us…the prep for the big year.

We’ve been doing the same for our boys.  I feel like they are ready to go… 1st and 3rd graders.  Hard to believe how fast it’s going.

Now, I’m not going back to school, but if I were, this is the type of stuff I’d treat myself to:

From top left:

1. B. Draddy Liam Cotton Polo:  The most comfortable cotton polos on the market.  They wear like t-shirts, but dressier.
2. Holderness & Bourne Wallace Hoodie:  Gotta stay warm.  The slimmer fit is nice.
3. Master Lock:  For the gym locker.
4. B5 Notebooks:  My g0-to for years.  The cover and back are a little thicker, so they feel a lot ‘sturdier’ vs. what you pay for them.  Highly recommend.
5. Parker Jotter Pens:  My absolute favorite pens on the market.  Again – sturdy.
6. Champion Arch Cotton T-shirt:  I’ve been working out in these shirts for as long as I remember.  No need to fix what ain’t broke.
7. Duck Head Slim Fit Gold School Chinos:  These are such good pants – especially for off-the-rack options.  I’ve got a couple of pairs that I iron, but one that I treat like jeans.  Wash and hang to dry.  Wear…repeat.  I love ’em.
8. La Matera Corbina Belt:  About as good as it gets…such a cool and versatile belt.
9. Topo Designs Commuter Backpack:  The market leader in nylon backpacks.  These are what we wish we had back in the day.  Over-engineered (my preference) and extremely well-built.  Worth every penny.
10. Topo Designs Accessory Bag:  Something to organize your stuff.
11. Holderness & Bourne Saunders Shorts:  I already have two pairs of these, and love them.  A great addition to the H&B lineup.
12. Paper Mate Flare Pens:  So good.  Writing with these feels like doodling…
13. Miir Water Bottle:  Gotta keep hydrated.  Even though there are water fountains all over the school.  Or office.
14. Oak Street Bootmakers Camp Mocs:  School ‘dress shoes’.
15. Saucony Shadow 5000s: School ‘sneakers’.

What did I miss?
