Bivalve Reverb: Brass Oyster Shell Buckle & Strap from Narragansett Leathers

Let the oyster love continue…

In a follow up from the previous oyster post, here is the the Narragansett Oyster Buckle and Strap:

Brass Oyster buckle with a 1 1/16″ strap in ‘Medium Brown’.  The leather is extremely thick, and should age nicely.

I was a little curious about the size of the oyster shell buckle – I didn’t want it to look like a rodeo buckle.  As you can see below – it’s a perfect size:

The buckle has already started to patina, which looks outstanding.  Narragansett has been selling the belts and buckles since the 60’s.   There are other options out there, but this is an original (produced by Reid Higgins of Cotuit, Ma on Cape Cod).  $85 out the door – $45 for the buckle, $34 for the strap, and $6 for shipping.  Not a bad investment at all…

Nice – I received their hoof pick belt (with same strap color) as a gift recently and love it. The leather quality and durability is well beyond what one would get from a larger retailer, especially at that price.

Nicely done. Getting some of the New England flavor back down South. I dig that belt.

Awesome belt … I’ve been itching for some sort of accessory with an oyster on it. Good size, too.
