Custom Chacos

I love my Chacos. I picked up my first pair about a dozen years ago on a whim, and they quickly worked their way into the rotation. At first, they were a low-key option, something I’d throw on occasionally, but I kept finding more and more uses for them. I’d wear them fishing, around the yard, to the beach. They’re a true utility shoe for warmer weather, with enough support to handle just about anything you throw at them.

Chaco recently rolled out a custom program where you can essentially design your own pair from the ground up: different strap styles, colors, hardware, soles, the whole deal. It’s a fun process. They asked me to put together a pair, and I was more than happy to oblige.

I wanted something lighter and a little more versatile: something that wouldn’t feel heavy in the warmer months. I landed on a light green, royal blue, and dark green combination, paired with a grey footbed and a Vibram sole. I’m really pleased with how they turned out. They came with me to the beach and saw a lot of use right away, and I expect they’ll log plenty of miles over the next few months.

If you’re a Chaco guy, or thinking about becoming one, it’s worth checking out the custom program.
